Program advokasi dan sosialisasi hak anak oleh Sahabat Anak

Sahabat, pernahkah Anda terlibat dalam penandatanganan petisi, atau mungkin pernah melihat kampanye beberapa petisi di laman media sosial Sahabat? Jika Sahabat cukup aktif di dunia media sosial mungkin nama Change.org pernah terlintas di sana. Hal-hal yang diperjuangkannya juga cukup bervariasi. Mulai dari lingkungan hidup dan satwa, keadilan, politik dan demokrasi, juga media dan internet.

Di akhir tahun lalu, Change.org beserta House of Infographics menampilkan infografis yang menarik tentang petisi-petisi di Indonesia tahun 2014. Yang menarik bagi Sahabat Anak, tentunya, adalah hak anak berada di kategori petisi no. 4 terpopuler di 2014. Jumlah tanda-tangan yang terkumpul mencapai 115.759 orang. Salah satu petisinya adalah keprihatinan akan terpaparnya anak terhadap lagu berkonten dewasa di sebuah acara televisi. Melihat kepedulian masyarakat dapat disalurkan dan mendapatkan tanggapan nyata memberikan harapan bagi apa yang ingin dicapai SA sehubungan dengan komitmen SA menjadi Lembaga Perlindungan Anak.

Being Literate to Elevate

How do we really measure the well-being of a human? If we’re talking about the quality standard of a human life, then we will refer to the Human Development Index (HDI) standards reported each year by United Nation Development Programme (UNDP).

HDI is measured using 3 elements; first is health, which can be seen from a healthy lifestyle, longevity, and infant mortality rates. Second is education, a combination of elementary, primary and high school education with literacy skills. Third is economy, including income value and purchasing power.

The latest report from 2010, shows that Indonesia’s HDI is ranked number 108 from 169 countries. Within ASEAN countries, Indonesia is number 6 out of 10. We are behind Singapore, Brunei, Thailand, Philippines, and even Malaysia, which was behind Indonesia previously. Read the rest of this entry

Sahabat Anak Day 2012 – “SHARE YOUR DREAMS!”

A child is defined under the Indonesian Law, UU No. 23 2002 Chapter 1, as a citizen of Indonesia under the age of 18 and it also includes a child in the mother’s womb.
